An Orientation Workshop is required for any Sister who wishes to participate in or observe Orientation during the Fall 2026 semester. This workshop is designed to ensure that all Sisters are adequately prepared to support the orientation process and provide a positive, educational experience for our future members.

Undergraduate Sisters are required to attend the in-person workshop. Because all TXA1 undergraduate chapters are located within the required two-hour driving radius, a virtual option will not be offered for undergraduate members. Alumnae in TXA1 will be approved only if there are scheduling conflicts and they cannot attend the in-person OW.

TXA2 Sisters outside of the 2 hour radius of the OWs being offered, and alumnae will be prioritized for this OW.

The virtual workshop is reserved for alumnae and Alumnae-at-Large. Participation in the virtual option requires approval from both the Area Orientation Coordinator (AOC) and the Regional Orientation Supervisor (ROS), as engagement expectations for the virtual workshop are more rigid to ensure an effective learning environment.

Our goal is to ensure that every Sister leaves Orientation Workshop with the knowledge, confidence, and practical skills needed to participate in Orientation successfully.

Please note that attendance is required for the entirety of the workshop, which will last approximately 5–6 hours. The length of the workshop is intentional to allow ample time for instruction, discussion, and hands-on practice.

This workshop is highly interactive. Please come prepared to actively participate in role-playing exercises, engage in discussions, and practice the skills you will use during Orientation. We also ask that you come with an open mind and a willingness to learn. If we are unwilling to challenge ourselves and learn in this space, we cannot expect our orientees to do the same.

To maintain a productive and professional learning environment, the following expectations will be strictly enforced throughout the workshop:

  • Attendance for the full duration of the workshop (no late arrivals or early departures)
  • No cell phone use during training unless otherwise directed or agreed upon
  • No side conversations while AOC or participants are speaking
  • Active participation and respectful engagement throughout the workshop

Thank you for your commitment to strengthening the Orientation process and investing in the future of our Sisterhood.
