Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport (DTW) is the primary airport serving the Detroit metropolitan area, located in Romulus, Michigan—approximately a 20–25 minute drive from downtown Detroit. As one of the nation’s busiest airports and a major Delta Air Lines hub, DTW offers extensive domestic and international service, with direct flights across the U.S. and to destinations in Europe, Asia, and the Americas. Travel from Airport to Hotel

Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport (DTW) is located approximately 20–25 minutes from downtown Detroit, depending on traffic.

Below are options for travel to and from airport:

FAST - POWERED BY SMART (smartbus.org)
FAST is a new high-frequency bus service. Michigan routes provide a direct connection from Detroit Metro Airport to downtown Detroit.
HOURS OF OPERATION
Seven days a week, 5 a.m.-midnight.
FARE: $2 one way, including free Wi-Fi. Both airport terminals, as well as the Dearborn Transit Center, are served with each trip.

Getting Around Detroit

Downtown Detroit is walkable and compact, with many hotels located near dining, entertainment, and cultural attractions. For trips beyond walking distance, the following options are widely used:

Rideshare: Typically short downtown trips range $8–$15 Longer trips (Midtown, Corktown, Eastern Market) are usually $12–$25

QLine Streetcar: Runs along Woodward Avenue, connecting downtown to Midtown. Free to ride. Convenient for accessing shopping, dining, and cultural institutions along the corridor. Connects easily to the People Mover, DDOT, SMART, Amtrak and the Tunnel Bus.

Detroit People Mover: Elevated rail loop serving downtown Detroit that is $0.75 per ride. Ideal for quick trips between hotels, convention venues, restaurants, and attractions

Scooters & Bike Rentals: Available seasonally throughout downtown. Pricing typically starts around $1 to unlock, plus per-minute rates.
