Board of Directors

The purpose of BOD shall implement and oversee all operational, professional, political, and social endeavors of the sorority between National Conventions. The BOD shall also uphold the integrity of their office as an individual member and that of a Board in the highest regard. The BOD shall abide by the National Constitution, Standing Rules, and other duty-related protocols as assigned by the National President or the BOD. Officers shall have the authority to impose fines for any incorrect, late, or missing paperwork and violations to the sorority's National Constitution and Standing Rules.

Onboarding & Expectations:

  • Elected candidates will be required to attend a virtual onboarding weekend May 1 - 3, 2026 as well as other onboarding sessions to ensure proper transition. In addition, elected candidates will be required to attend the National Convention (June 26 - 28, 2026).

Below you will find more information regarding each position.

  • National President (NP)

    • The NP shall represent the sorority in civic and professional association activities on the local, state, and national level or shall assign a designee in her absence.
    • The NP shall oversee the officers of the Executive Committee.
    • The NP shall oversee the structure and role of the National Advisors and meet monthly with them to provide relevant board updates.
    • The NP shall oversee the creation, communication, implementation and evaluation of a yearly strategic plan that upholds the sorority’s purpose and principles.
    • The NP shall lead and evaluate the effort and performance of fellow national officers to ensure that duties are met and are aligned with the sorority’s purpose and principles.
    • The NP shall have the authority to appoint special committees with the simple majority approval of the BOD.
    • The NP shall adhere to the financial internal controls, which includes approval and reconciliation of financial matters with the Vice President of Finance (Standing Rules Part II and Standing Rules Part II: Appendix C)
    • The NP shall serve as a board member for the LTA Foundation and provide regular updates to the BOD.
    • The NP shall oversee the:
      • National Constitution and Standing Rules Committee
      • National Identity and Traditions Committee

  • Vice President of External Affairs (VPEA)

    • The VPEA shall procure and uphold the sorority’s external relationships, branding and positive image.
    • The VPEA shall be responsible for developing and overseeing the national philanthropic initiatives, including the national partnership with St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and the Lambda Theta Alpha Foundation.
    • The VPEA shall be responsible for developing and overseeing timely and balanced political education initiatives for the membership.
    • The VPEA shall compose, review and distribute external communications (i.e., newsletters, updates, and press releases) sent on behalf of the BOD.
    • The VPEA shall be responsible for maintaining and updating the national website and all social media outlets.
    • The VPEA shall oversee the sorority trademarks and intellectual property, including vendor management and sorority design requests and related exceptions to policy.
    • The VPEA shall oversee the Sorority Brand Identity Guidelines (Standing Rules Part II: Appendix A).
    • The VPEA shall oversee the planning and execution of national events, including the National Convention.
    • The VPEA shall oversee the following committees:
      • National Philanthropy Committee
      • National Political Education Initiative Committee
      • National Events Committee
      • National Public Relations Committee

  • Vice President of Administration (VPA)

    • The VPA shall oversee all official records of the sorority.
    • The VPA shall oversee a current directory with contact information of all initiated members.
    • The VPA shall oversee the appointment process of vacancies for National and Regional Officers with the majority approval of the BOD.
    • The VPA shall keep attendance records for executive, national and special meetings, including mandatory national events.
    • The VPA shall oversee and maintain the sorority’s information management systems and technological tools, including email accounts, listservs and databases (Standing Rules Part II: Appendix B).
    • The VPA shall receive and log all queries and mail to the BOD.
    • The VPA shall oversee the Standing Rules and the BOD Standard Operating Procedures.
    • The VPA shall provide the membership with the minutes from Leadership Team meetings within 14 calendar days.
    • The VPA shall review and/or distribute internal communications sent on behalf of the BOD.
    • The VPA shall oversee the Regional Administrative Supervisors.
    • The VPA shall oversee the:
      • National Elections Committee
      • National Technology Special Committee
  • Director of Undergraduate Affairs (DUA)

    • The DUA shall serve as the primary liaison between the BOD and collegiate partners to maintain university/college relationships and recognition and partner with respective BOD.
    • The DUA shall oversee the Undergraduate Chapter Status Report from all universities and colleges.
    • The DUA shall oversee undergraduate chapter programming, including evaluation and assessment.
    • The DUA shall oversee and evaluate the Cultivating Opportunities through Resilience and Empowerment Undergraduate Chapter Success Program (Standing Rules Part 1: Appendix B).
    • The DUA shall establish strategies for providing training tools and other such resources for academic and leadership development of undergraduates.
    • The DUA shall oversee and evaluate the academic initiatives program.
    • The DUA shall promote retention activities for undergraduates.
    • The DUA shall recommend changes and review charter information from undergraduate chapters.
    • The DUA shall serve as an advocate for undergraduates.
    • The DUA shall oversee regional support and monitor the professional development of newly established and re-established undergraduate chapters within their first year.
    • The DUA shall regularly update the BOD regarding all undergraduate activities occurring within the sorority.
    • The DUA shall oversee the following committees:
      • National Undergraduate Affairs Committee
      • National Leadership Development and Standards Committee
  • Director of Orientation (DO)

    • The DO shall oversee, evaluate and approve orientation activities and new member intake of the sorority.
    • The DO shall make recommendations to improve new member intake activities to meet educational outcomes and maintain uniformity among chapters.
    • The DO shall regularly update the BOD regarding all new member intake activities occurring within the sorority.
    • The DO shall develop a live annual orientation training, which is mandatory for all officers holding an orientation-related position at all levels of leadership.
    • The DO shall develop, implement and evaluate all orientation-related training and materials, subject to approval by the BOD.
    • The DO shall oversee the collection and analysis of all orientation-related reports and make appropriate recommendations to the BOD.
    • The DO shall work closely with the DRM to direct national sorority hazing prevention awareness initiatives.
    • The DO shall work closely with the DRM to develop and maintain accountability standards for orientation and in instances of hazing allegations.
    • The DO shall oversee the creation and distribution of sister certificates.
    • The DO shall oversee the prophyte application process and the distribution and maintenance of prophyte records.
    • The DO shall oversee the collection and analysis of all orientation-related reports and make appropriate recommendations to the BOD.
    • The DO shall stay abreast of changing trends and intake requirements at undergraduate institutions.
    • The DO shall oversee the Regional Orientation Supervisors.
    • The DO shall oversee the:
