As we commemorate the 61st anniversary of Bloody Sunday, the Political Education Initiative Committee invites members and supporters to reflect, learn, and engage through a series of events honoring the legacy of the Selma to Montgomery marches.
This year, our participation includes:
In-Person March Participation (March 8): Members traveling to Selma will walk in remembrance and solidarity, honoring the courage of those who paved the way.
Virtual March Opportunities: For those unable to attend in person, we invite you to join us in symbolic participation and civic reflection from wherever you are.
Member-Only Civil Rights Dialogue: A facilitated conversation exploring the ongoing fight for voting rights, the intersectionality of civil rights movements, and how we continue the work today.
This commemoration is not just about remembering history, it is about understanding its present-day implications and recognizing our responsibility to remain informed, engaged, and united.
We hope you will join us as we honor the past and recommit ourselves to civic participation, justice, and community empowerment.
If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to PEI@LamdbaLady.org.

We are encouraging members to either have a virtual march in person or a civic day of action!
