Resources from the Health & Wellness Task Force
Health & Wellness Task Force – Monthly Wellness Spotlight
The Health & Wellness Task Force is committed to supporting the holistic wellbeing of our sisterhood. Each month, we feature a dedicated wellness 1-pager designed to educate, empower, and connect members with timely resources that support personal growth, balance, and self-care.
We believe that prioritizing wellness is an act of strength. Through this monthly series, we invite you to learn, reflect, and take intentional steps toward caring for yourself, because your wellness matters in every season.
Our December 2025 spotlight focuses on Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD), a form of seasonal depression that can impact mood, energy, sleep, and overall wellbeing during the fall and winter months. This resource helps members understand the causes and symptoms of SAD, explore healthy coping strategies, and identify supportive tools available through Lambda Theta Alpha’s mental health resources and sisterhood networks. As outlined in the December 1-pager, approaches such as light therapy, physical activity, creative expression, time in nature, and community connection can play an important role in managing seasonal mood changes
Our January 2025 spotlight focuses on Cervical Cancer Awareness, highlighting a preventable and highly treatable cancer when detected early. This resource helps members understand what cervical cancer is, identify key risk factors such as HPV infection and tobacco use, recognize common symptoms, and learn the importance of routine screenings like Pap tests and HPV testing. As outlined in the January 1-pager, proactive prevention, early detection, and community education play a critical role in improving outcomes and supporting long-term reproductive health through informed care and advocacy
