2020 Philanthropic Member of the Year

Alondra Gil
Eta Gamma Chapter, Spring 2020

As a top individual fundraiser, Alondra raised $1,135 dollars for the St. Jude Walk/Run for Life, putting Eta Gamma in the top chapters nationally for fundraising for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. She also fundraised for the LTA Foundation and their COVID-19 Relief Stipends amounting to nearly $500 as a chapter. Even beyond her fundraisers for our national philanthropies, she has given numerous hours to community service, dedicating time each quarter to participate in service events which include working at the San Diego Food Bank, Winter Clothes Donation Drive, Sandwich Making for the Homeless, and much more.

Alondra was interviewed by the National Philanthropy Committee as part of the National Volunteer Week Celebration. Click here to view the recording of the Instagram Live.

2020 Philanthropic Chapter of the Year

Alpha Sigma Alumnae Chapter

The Alpha Sigma Alumnae Chapter has been a tremendous support to the community and our organization. In 2019, the Alpha Sigma Alumnae Chapter collected donations to give back to women and children in need as a part of the "Atlanta Mission Shelter Spring Drive." In 2017, 2018, and 2019, Alpha Sigma Alumnae members hosted an "Adopt A Family Fundraiser" to purchase needs for unfortunate families during the holidays, and a "Back to School Supply Drive" to collect school supplies for the less fortunate children starting back to school each fall. In addition, in 2018, as a part of the "Let's Give Back and Help the Homeless Project" the chapter partnered with Georgia Area One undergraduate chapters to collect canned goods to provide to homeless shelters for a Thanksgiving dinner. In total, the Alpha Sigma Alumnae Chapter has completed 72 service hours.
